Bishop’s Conference for Clergy, Lay Professionals & Spouses

May 3-5, 2010

We will be joined once again by Bishop Julio Murray, the bishop of Panama. Bishop Murray was with us for our diocesan Council in Richmond, but his time here was cut very short due to the snowstorm necessitating Council’s adjournment after only the first afternoon. Bishop Murray is highly regarded as a leading figure among Anglican bishops internationally, being particularly known for his focus on mission and evangelism.

Bishop Murray will pursue two separate tracks for us. First, he will continue with our theme of the Great Commission (“Go: Teach, Preach, Baptize”) – the messages he prepared for us at Council but was unable to deliver. Second, we will explore the Indaba process, a method of discussion and discernment that actually results in community building. This was introduced to the wider Church during the 2008 Lambeth Conference and it had a surprisingly powerful effect.
